One group member found the doggie paper pieced pattern. She also put together kits for everyone with all of the fabric pieces rough cut to the correct size. This was a fun day of conversation and sewing. I think all the puppies came out very fun looking.

I wanted to try my hand at paper piecing. With a new nephew on the way and a fun pattern I found in the Nov. 2003 The Quilter Magazine, I had a great opportunity to try a new process. It went together fairly easily, but I am not in love with paper piecing yet.
I also decided to try my hand at commercial fabrics for this one. I was amazed at how difficult it was for me to pick out the various fabrics for this project. I think I will stick to my hand dyes and painted fabrics for a while.

I continued to practice my free motion quilting. The quilt is 48 x 58 inches.
