New Purse

I leave tomorrow for a trip to my cousins wedding. Unfortunately last week my purse started to fall apart. I have been wanting to make one for myself so I looked through my patterns to see what would work. I settled on a pattern from a book called Quilted Bags & Purses by Mary Jo [...]

Finally got a picture of the in progress braided Quilt. It is now all pieced. I am pretty pleased with how it is shaping up. I am still trying to decide what material I will use for the backing and my quilting design. I also had some leftover fabric from the quilt that I decided [...]

Yet Another Tote

I had a couple of friends that wanted to learn to make the Professional Tote. We set a date to meet to make the totes. We prepared for our meeting by cutting out our fabrics and fusing the interfacing before our get together.

I have made yet another Professional Tote. This tote was made for a good friend. I used one of my hand dyed fabrics for the main body and I used a commercial black and white cat fabric that I dyed to coordinate for the accent fabric. I left the center pocket out of this bag [...]

Productive Week

Last week was a productive week for projects. On Sunday we had an Easter dinner for some of our friends. We needed to have room to seat 11 people. Our dining room table seats 4. This proved to be a small problem. A six foot banquet table and 3 sheets of plywood, joined together [...]

My mom had been teasing me that she wanted the polka dot tote that I made last summer, so I gave it to her. I loved the tote. It was a great size, but I wanted one made of my fabrics. I knew as long as I had the other one, I would never get [...]

Switching Carry-on’s

I spent the last few weeks on vacation. As is typical of most vacations there is never enough suitcase space. So, my carry-on became a checked bag, but I still needed a carry-on.
Three days before my departure I started making the Professional Tote. It has lots of compartments and pockets. Just what I love. I [...]

Busy, Busy, Busy….

This week was a very busy week in the studio. I finished putting the border on the heart quilt and presented it to our friend. I am happy to say that it was very well received.
I also volunteered to do a demo at club last Saturday. I have something I call a thread catcher that [...]

This week I worked on a birthday gift for a friend. I dyed some fabric and made another Folding Wallet purse. I really like this pattern and it is very easy to follow. I have only made a couple of changes to the pattern. I use flannel instead of batting and I have made [...]

First New Project of 2007

Bill gave me a new purse for Christmas. Unfortunately my old purse had a built in wallet and the new one didn’t. I wanted to use the new purse but couldn’t until I made a wallet to go inside. Thankfully I found a great wallet pattern at the last Quilt show I attended. I pulled [...]
