Project Cleanup

Pillow FrontThis is a project that has been waiting to be finished for a while. I am really into texture and color. When the quilt guild I belong to decided to host Jennie Rayment for our lecture and class for the month, I decided to sign up. It was a very interesting class.I used some scrap fabric that was probably not the best choice, but I am still happy with the results. Dark fabric doesn’t show the shadows as well as a light fabric might.

We made nine separate squares in class using various folding and tucking techniques. It was a lot of fun to see what the finished square ended up looking like.

I decided to finish this piece out by sewing the squares together and backing them with a cut up shirt to create a pillow cover. It is not very practical for a pillow, but it looks nice in my front room.
