Fun with Power Tools

» by julie in: Woodworking

With a Garage full of new to me tools I decided that I best learn to use them correctly and safely. I signed up for a beginning woodworking class at a local shop called the Sawdust Shop. It is a full service store and workshop. If you don’t have your own tools, you can rent time in their workshop. They have everything you could possibly need. The class was 16 hours long over 4 evenings.

Tonight was the last evening of class and I have finished my project. Isn’t it beautiful? It is made out of Solid Walnut for the frame and shelves and Plywood for the back. It will get a light coat of oil and then into the studio for thread storage. I had a lot of fun. Although it looks big, it is just 12 inches wide by 16 inches tall.Wood Shelves
